How AI Tools Help Me Create Better Images

When I first started using AI tools, it wasn’t about jumping on the latest trend. I simply wanted to make my work easier. Creating good images was taking way too long and I needed a better way to get from idea to finished visual without all the frustration.

After months of experimentation, I’ve finally found a workflow that actually works. Tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Envato have become my creative buddies. They don’t do the work for me, but they make everything so much smoother.

Getting My Ideas Clear with AI Chat Tools

The biggest game-changer for me has been using AI to figure out exactly what I want before I even start creating images. This is where ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini come in handy.

ChatGPT is like my brainstorming buddy. When I have a fuzzy idea—such as “I need something modern and clean”—I simply tell ChatGPT what I’m thinking. It helps me dig deeper and figure out the details I hadn’t thought of yet.

Claude is great at making things more organised. After ChatGPT helps me explore my ideas, Claude helps me put everything together in a way that makes sense. It’s really good at balancing what I want artistically with what will actually work. Plus, I’ve noticed Claude has a knack for choosing just the right words – it makes my descriptions sound more natural and flowing.

Gemini is my newest experiment. I’m still figuring out what makes it different, but it sometimes suggests things that the other tools don’t consider, which keeps things interesting. We also tried generating images directly on Gemini and it turned out great too.

Why Being Specific Actually Matters

Here’s something I learned the hard way: vague descriptions give you disappointing results. Look at the difference:

  • Simple prompt: “A nice office”
  • Clear direction prompt: “A modern, cozy office with bright natural lighting, large windows, minimalistic furniture, indoor plants, and a clean, organized desk setup.”
Generating Prompt

The second one tells the AI exactly what kind of mood and style I’m going for. It’s like the difference between asking someone to “make dinner” versus giving them a specific recipe.

Turning Ideas into Actual Images with Envato

Once I know exactly what I want, Envato is where the magic happens. This is where my carefully thought-out descriptions become real images I can actually use.

I never just take the first image that comes to me. Instead, I generate a few different versions, then use the editing tools to tweak colours, adjust lighting or combine the best parts from different attempts. For example, when I needed an image for a presentation, I started with a basic generated image, then adjusted the colours and sharpened some details until it looked perfect.

The key thing I’ve learned is that it’s totally normal to go through several tries before getting something I love.

How I Put It All Together

My process is pretty straightforward now:

  1. Start with the chat tools to get my prompt exactly right. I’ll bounce ideas between ChatGPT, Claude and sometimes Gemini until I have a clear, detailed description of what I want.
  2. Use Envato to create the actual images. I generate several versions and pick the best elements from each one.
  3. Edit and adjust until everything looks just right. This is usually where I spend the most time, but it’s also the most fun part.

This whole system saves me hours compared to trying to describe things on my own or settling for whatever comes out first.

Keeping It Real

Keep in mind that these tools support your work, they don’t replace it. They’re amazing at giving me options and speeding up the boring parts, but all the creative decisions are still mine. I decide what looks good, what fits my project and what needs to be changed.

I actually enjoy the back-and-forth process now. There’s something satisfying about starting with a rough idea and working with these tools to turn it into exactly what I pictured in my head.

My Advice if You’re Just Starting

If you want to give this a try, pick one tool—perhaps start with ChatGPT, as it’s likely the most familiar—and experiment with describing images you want to create.

If you want to give this a try, start small—don’t dive into everything at once. Pick one tool to begin with. I’d suggest ChatGPT since most people have heard of it and just play around with describing the images you have in mind.

I’ve noticed something interesting about each AI tool—not just with writing, but with image creation too. ChatGPT is good at taking all my scattered thoughts and helping me organise them into clear planning or direction. Claude is more like a translator, I use it when I need to translate what I’m trying to say into something more relevant. Plus, Claude just has this natural flow when it comes to storytelling.

These tools have made my creative process feel way less overwhelming. Instead of sitting there wondering how to even begin, I can just start chatting with ChatGPT about whatever’s bouncing around in my head. Before I know it, I actually have something to work with.

These tools haven’t replaced my creativity—they’ve just made it so much easier to get my ideas out of my head and into the world. And that’s exactly what I was hoping for when I started using these AI tools.
